ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Tracy Woodman grew up in Alaska before returning to New Hampshire where she now enjoys the company of her two grown daughters. She has a degree in Business Administration and Early Childhood Education and currently works as a copy consultant and freelance writer. When Tracy’s not writing, she enjoys painting, working in her garden, and growing her Ayurvedic Practice. She writes under the pen name Lee Woods for “The War Within, A Dangerous Truth, A Kiss To Remember. She is currently working on “Dancing With The Devil” which is expected to be released in the summer of 2025.
In 2012 Tracy was diagnosed with Hashimotos. Many of you may be familiar with Hashimotos as a form of hypothyroidism.
She was surprised by the diagnosis, because she thought she was healthy. Yet the longer she sat with the news, and the more information she gathered, she realized it was my lifestyle choices that brought about this autoimmune disorder.
Tracy never really thought about what she ate. she just knew that she never got sick, so Tracy thought she was invincible. Once she thought about it, Tracy realized that the foods she was eating, were really not good for her.
Needless to say, when Tracy was diagnosed, her doctor wanted to put her on medication immediately. Tracy had never been big on taking medication. There was always something about the pharmaceutical companies that didn’t sit right with her.
Tracy protested when her doctor suggested the prescription. She asked her doctor to give her 30 days to try to come up with a natural way to get the Hashimotos under control. She hesitated, but knew how Tracy felt about drugs. She agreed to give her 30 days. But told Tracy if she couldn’t do it, she would have to succumb to the prescription route.
Tracy spent the next thirty days researching Hashimotos, and looking for ways to manage it naturally. What she came up with was Ayurveda. She spent time reading and digesting information about the Doshas, Gunas, Nadis, Marmas, everything Ayurvedic.
What she learned set me on a path of discovery that led her to a lifestyle of eating for my Dosha. Yes, there have been times when she’s fallen off the wagon, so to speak. But ultimately the change brought her from the beginning of my journey where she dropped 30 pounds (the first month) to becoming certified as an Ayurvedic Practitioner. This so she could share my experience and help others heal.
She was diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2012. By 2015 she showed no signs of having Hashimotos. she’s not saying her results are typical, but she will say, it’s amazing what a little research, a positive attitude and a lot of determination will do.
Now she want to use her knowledge and experience to help others learn about Ayurveda. In hopes that others will be able to heal their bodies and live complete lives filled with a renewed energy.
